Experience design (Websites, mobile, tablets, apps)
Experience design is a creative discipline that’s based off human behaviour so through the research and studies that we do on consumers we learn about what their needs and behaviours are and based off of those insights, they will essentially drive our design thinking, so in a nutshell we look at experience design as a human centred design approach. The way we work is we work in these very short, lean cycles so we work through these sprints where we design work, we prototype the work, we we will test the work, we will get feedback from users and based on that feedback we will go into another round of design and we will do that until we are very confident about the work we’re designing and launching. So for experience designers at Mason Associates we’re really excited about the future because we’re doing a lot of product and services innovation for clients and as a result we have to create things that are useful to consumers in their daily lives and experience designers are at the core of making that come to life.
E-commerce and retail are really evolving. The biggest change in e-commerce is that everything now is about mobile phones. It’s completely fragmenting how customers go about their purchase journey. Whether they’re on Facebook or Instagram we really see the importance of what we call connected commerce. How can we help our clients be there when our customers have these buy impulses. So the most interesting thing about physical retail less and less people are going to stores so brands are really thinking about how can we bring customers in and so what we’ve been doing is helping our clients think about what are complimentary experiences or services we can offer than can entice customers in. For a lot of the projects that we work on we bring our commerce expertise to the table and we pair that with Mason Associates amazing experience design and visual design capabilities which really differentiates ourself in the market.
